Not really in day to day usage. The "problem" comes in performing "upgrades" to the latest version of Ubuntu when they release it. Ubuntu has a pretty smooth and seamless upgrade process (sounds like bullshit to me, all I ever get is problems with "unauthenticated packages" which come from the Ubuntu repository.. anyway I digress) and the packages installed by Automatix can bugger things up. If you have never managed to get the process to work in any case (like me) and manually upgrade by changing the sources file and running dselect, then you should not have too many problems. You may have to manually remove some package that automatix has installed to get things to go though. All in all, it has far more advantages than disadvantages.. Just don't post on the ubuntu forums about any difficulty you may have after installing Automatix or you will have a new one untidily ripped. You've been warned! Now, install it, make life easy for yourself and be happy :) Brad -- "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so." -- Douglas Adams
