Dear Team Managers,

The Summer II schedules are now posted online. Summer II Futsal
starts next week. Please note that some divisions have “off-night” games.
For example, if you normally play on Thursday nights, you may have one
Wednesday game, etc., so please look closely.

To get your schedules, simply go to our website, www.portlandfutsal.com, and
click on “Futsal
Schedules.” Once you’re on the Futsal schedule page, scroll through the
divisions at the top of the page. You can then click on your team name which
will show your team’s 8 games.

Futsal is NOT outdoor soccer:

What I mean by this is simple…Futsal is supposed to be a
non-contact sport that uses skill, not our bodies to win. This is applied to
all divisions, regardless of skill levels.

Payment:

Remaining
payment is due at your first game. No exceptions. Tell your players
to please be prepared with checkbooks or cash as we do not accept credit cards
at the first game.

Player
Waivers:

All
new players who do not have a Waiver Form (attached) on file must turn one in
before stepping on to the field. If you bring in new players throughout the
season, please make sure they sign a waiver before playing.

Parking:

Do
not park in the parking lot across SE 17th Ave as they will tow your
car. Also, there are many spaces around our building that may not look like
driveways, but they are. Please respect my neighbors and never block them.

Co-ed
Note:

Co-ed teams must have a minimum of two female field players at all
times, but more may be used in lieu of men. Using a female as a goalie does not
count. If a co-ed team is short a girl, you can field a team with 2 men and one
women (playing down a player).

Forfeits:

If your team forfeits you will have to pay $16 in referee fees and
the game will be scored as a 7 – 0 win for the other team.

Home or Away, who changes shirts for color conflict:

The home team, the team listed first gets to wear their colors.
The away team always changes, so come prepared.

Playoffs/Championship Games:

The top four teams in each division will meet in the semifinals
on Saturday September 12th with the winners advancing to the finals
the following day on Sunday, September 13th (playoff schedule
attached). If your conference has two brackets, Argentina & Brazil,
then the top two teams from each conference will advance. Also, if there is a
tie to reach the playoffs in total points, then the first tie breaker is
head-to-head results. Please note that my website is not smart enough to
calculate head-to-head wins. It will default to goal differential which is the
second tie breaker and goals scored is the third tie-breaker. Playoff games
ending in a tie will be decided by golden goal (first team to score wins).

Enjoy your Summer II Futsal experience and hope you like the new
driving beats.

Yours in Futsal,
