Hmmm...don't know if they'll sell cells in Bothell (just had to !) but the 
battery type for the Type III is the 4/5's "A" cell NiMH style.  Make sure 
you get tabs on the batteries as soldering on a NiMH cell tends to cut it's 
life  :-)

You'll need 10 cells.  www.batteriesamerica.com is where I got mine.  I'm 
doing a batt for a friend (I'm currently Duo-less at present!) and ended up 
buying the 1600 mAh cells instead of the 2150 mAh. as they had the 1600's on 
hand at a local hamfest ($30 for the 10 cells).  With the 2150 mAh cells, $40 
to $50 later, you have a "Type IV" batt!   Life in a Duo 280 seems to be in 
the 2hr + timeframe.
