My first Apple was a ][+ in 1980 (whata great machine!) but my first
Mac was a Classic in 1990 - just couldn't justify $4,000 for a II
series on a paramedic's salary! My trusty Commodore 64 and 128 did a
fine job of logging onto Compuserve (at 300 baud!) back in 1985,
though.
I must say, in terms of longevity, that my Dad taught me to write
programs (HUGE ones - 2 whole k!) using punch cards back in 1970-71.
It seemed so fast and powerful back then to run such an intricate
program and get the results posted in your college mailbox in only
two days!
