I would recommend WaveLane/Orinoco cards for the 2400 and 5300, and an Apple
basestation for the rest via ethernet.
Apple's AirPort 1.2 software supports the WaveLane cards EXTREMELY RELIABLY,
but not the PCI. You would need to use the WaveLane software on the PCI
cards in the rest of the machines, which I cannot vouch for. I do not even
know if the hardware adapter is compatible with Macs. Yes, the PCI card is
only an adaptor... for the added expense of a PCMCIA card to slot into each.
$300 at most for an Apple Basestation would be my recommendation...
