When you loose the boot sector it becomes invisible, it won't mount on a PC
either without running Fdisk to restore the boot sector! Fdisk will find
the drive and allow you to create a new boot sector, partition and format.

Perhaps that's what I was told. I'm sure there was a way to render an IDE
drive "invisible" to the Mac. Just don't remember the specifics.
