Peter,
I would first try and reset the power manager, for good measure. Unplug,
remove battery, and hold the rear power switch (**NOT** the one on the
keyboard!) for 30 seconds.
Then try powering it on with the switch in the rear of the machine. (Using
AC power, not battery) Also, try leaving it unplugged without the battery
and with the PRAM battery unplugged overnight. That has revived dead Duos
for me in the past. If you need instructions for unplugging the PRAM
