Word processing: Nisus Writer (www.nisus.com) still has a 68k version, and
is wonderful - as was Word 5.1 in its day.
Outlining and presentations: MORE 3.1, free from
http://www.outliners.com/more31.html. 10 years old and still the greatest
outliner/hierarchical document manager ever, and slideshow features still
blow the imbecilic PowerPoint out of the water.
Diagramming and mindmapping: Inspiration, from www.inspiration.com, still
has a 68k version. Brilliant.
Utilities: PopupFolder from www.highware.com. Only works with System 7.x,
but once you use it for an hour or two you'll never want to touch the MacOS
8-9 Finder again.
Music: anything by David Zicarelli, especially the long-unobtainable
OvalTune (which won't work on the 280c anyway; 230 or 2300 can mostly
cope). His classic M is still around, from www.cycling74.com, and was
updated a couple of years ago to work with OMS.
