There is someone on the PowerList who has successfully booted a 
PowerBook from a 48 MB CompactFlash card using a Type II PC card 
adapter.  If you have a digital camera that uses CompactFlash, this 
might be a particularly attractive option, because then in a pinch 
you'd have an extra card for taking pictures.  I'm not sure if it's 
the least expensive option, however.
