Hi everyone, A while ago I was having some problems with Finder crashes. I did throw out the preferences a few times, but I still get them (especially when memory gets tight, I've noticed). So tonight I replaced the Finder in my system folder with a copy of the one from my Disk First Aid disk. Is there anything wrong with that? (luckily my computer did start up afterwards! heh) The reason i ask is that i think things look a little different now--like when i do "Find file" the search box looks different. And I think maybe the font for file names has changed too. And the icon of my modem disappeared off my desktop (ack!) but I can still dial up. I wonder if maybe this is a sort of scaled down version made to fit on the floppy? The reason I used the DFA disk Finder and not the one from the installation disk is that I am running OS 8.1, and my installation disk is OS 8. (DFA is for 8.1) TIA for info/suggestions!
