Thank you Paul.

I'll brace myself for (another) dissassembly job and drain the PRAM
battery to see if this will cure it.  Then I'll send it it.
I think I'm going to make an external switch to drain the PRAM battery.
I'm getting too old to regularly dissassemble this machine, my heart
won't take it :-)
