It must be a guy thing to give your computer a female name. 'Cuz I'm
a woman, and I usually give my computers a male name. Makes them
that much more attractive to me. <g> I've had a James, a Vince, and
a Harry. It was particlarly fun when I had English Speech
Recognition turned on and could order my iMac around ("James, close
window.") The rest of my computers have non-anthropomorphic names,
like Blizzard, my new iceBook.

I've never particularly noted a connection between my computers'
names and their tendancy to act up. Although I suppose if I had one
that was really annoying me, that might affect the name I chose for
it.

OK, that's done it -- I've now decided on a name for my cranky PC at
work. Hello, Dubya.

;-)
