I was finally able to load 8.5 onto my somewhat brain damaged 2400. You may
recall it has the battery reading problem, which includes the li-ion and the
pram.

It has a lot of trouble reading external scsi devices, even with all the
drivers. I have an external hard drive (Syquest Ez-Flyer), a cd
reader/writer and an Apple-branded cd rom, and getting the 2400 to read both
of these drivers is very tricky. I start, and re-start, over and over again.
I change the device numbers, terminate, unterminate... etc. The 2400 will
recognize the scsi devices only about 20% of the time.

Now that the system software has been restored, there is no improvement with
the battery-reading problem. It will be repaired by After Hours Consulting.

Does anybody think this is a problem that is related to the battery prob? I
understand the power manager may be at fault, since it controls scsi devices
as well as batteries.
