        The screws actually just pass through the metal, and screw into the
plastic bottom.  How dysfunctional does the break in the metal frame make
it?  Are you sure that you can't just screw in the hard drive, etc., and
carry on?
        I have a spare 2300 bottom in new condition for the $20 I paid for
it, if anyone needs one.
