It's kind of like calling someone on the phone. You don't actually dial
there name, rather the number representing them. If you look a name up in
the phone book, you get the persons number. If you've changed you number but
that info hasn't been updated in the phone book, you'll get the old number
(or perhaps the number isn't eve right in the phone book). Either way the
number will be wrong and you'll end up talking to the wrong person.

In this case, the ISP's DNS (domain name server) is like a phone book.
You've typed in a domain name, but the wrong number is being sent back to
your browser and this sends you to the wrong site.

At least this is the best analogy I can describe.
