Speedometer uses PPC code, but it is not optimized for any particular 
processor.

Since the results are highly favorable for the iBook, showing it to be on 
average over 8 times faster, although the clock speed is only 6 times 
faster, I beleive that the point is moot.

I looked for newer benchmarking software, but was unable to find any at all.

If someone finds some that is freeware, I will be glad to run it on my 
iBook and they can run it on their 2300 for comparison.
