I was going to suggest DLing the "Professional Support Tools Sys Recovery 2" CD image from Apple's web site, but if you are linking through AOL I don't think you have enough bandwidth to bother. It's a 580MB DL and has the 8.6 multi-install image on it, that's just what you are looking for.
Well, if you have access somewhere to a fast DL connection, here's the link: < http://spftp.info.apple.com/CD_Images/Software_Recovery/SSW_Recovery_2__Dec _2000_/693-2585-A.dmg.bin> LI/PW = servicesource/ipodjams <-- !! AppleSecret btw !! don't spread it around !! Otherwise, the actual 8.6 install CD is very difficult to come by. IN fact even the multi-installer does a8.5, then update to 8.6 thingy (automagically, of course.) Sorry I can't provide a hard copy though, Dan K PS: here's a nice page with links to some other CDs y'all might like to check out: < http://servicesource:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/cdimages/FMPro?-db=CDImage sDB&-format=directory.html&-lay=web&-Find=Start+Search&Release=Yes&PublishT o=SSO&-SortField=Item%20Name&-SortOrder=ascend&-Token.1=viewall&-Token.2=SS O&-Max=60 > and keep this under yer hats, eh?!? PPS: oh yeah and here's a page I just rediscovered, with links to Apple's ftp servers and the Service Source repair manuals: < http://www.freehost.nu/members/enigmac/appleman.html > On 1/23/02 1:32 AM [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Date: Tue, 22 Jan 2002 13:58:35 EST >Subject: [Duo2400] OS8.6 CD needed > >Any of you guys & gals out there have a full-OS 8.6 CD you'd part with?
