Thinness isn't much of an issue since Duos can accomodate drives up to 19mm height, essentially every 2.5-in IDE mechanism ever made. More important is the location of the mounting holes on drives made after '96 or thereabouts, which includes virtually all drives 12.5mm or thinner, or larger than 3.08GB; the holes on the Duo's drive brackets don't match the holes on these drives. An effective solution seems to be using zip ties to hold the brackets to the drive; once the brackets are screwed to the Duo frame, the drive is held securely. Apple's Drive Setup generally is able to format IDE drives from any manufacturer, which is not to say there will never be a problem. The 2.5-in drives I've seen come set to "Master" by default, but you might want to check to be sure it's not set to "Slave". BC __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
