Duo 2300, OS 8.6, GV powerport internal modem, GV teleport 28.8 external modem.
When in the Dock I use the external modem and GV 2.6 software; when undocked, the internal modem and GV 2.5.5. Switching via Location Manager and AppleTalk/Modem configurations. Everything has worked fine for years until yesterday, when I put the duo into the dock and tried to use the external modem. My only choices now in the Modem Control Panel are connect via "internal modem" or "printer port". (I think the previous options when docked were modem port or printer port.) If I swap the printer and modem serial cables, and reset AppleTalk and modem CPs, I can print via the modem port and connect the external modem through the printer port. I've tried zapping the PRAM;, running DiskFirstAid, TechToolPro, Disk Warrior; replacing system, finder and modem control panels; trashing appropriate preferences; all to no avail. Any suggestions as to what is happening and how to fix it? TIA Charlie LIncoln Portland, Oregon USA [EMAIL PROTECTED] 503/636-1154 ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
