I recently installed 8.0 on my 2300 and upgraded the OS to 8.1. All of the
extensions (Apple Built-In Ethernet, Apple Ethernet CS, Apple Ethernet LC,
Apple Ethernet NB and EtherTalk Phase 2) and control panels seem ok, but
when I open the Appletalk Control Panel and click on the pull down list for
"Connect Via", my only choices are Modem Port, Printer Port, and Remote
Only. How can I get Ethernet to show up as an option? I have the identical
extension set on my 6100 and ethernet works just fine.

I've used my Asante Micro EN/SC adapter on the duo when I had 8.5 but it
isn't working now. When I try to install the software I get a message that
the installer can't detect the adapter. The PWR light and a "U" light are
on but not the TX or RX light.

One last question. When I try to connect my internal modem using PPP, I
keep getting a message that the port is in use. I've selected Remote Only
and also turned off Appletalk, but still get the same message. What am I
missing?
