DT & T does get raves here; I'll probably have to use them sometime... but I'd encourage the patient but faint of heart to try ripping a whole machine down and putting it back together. Just do the case and the mouse connector the first time, if you're really cautious. Some do it with guns, but I haven't the military background; I'm just a geek manqu. http://webobjects.uwaterloo.ca/mac2400/piecemeal.html were quite sufficient. Video? I'm living in 56k connection land. We don't need no stinkin' video. It just required patience, and good philips screwdrivers, maybe a fine pair of needlenose pliers for the random dropped screws. All told, very empowering experience, replacing a pram battery and the processor card. But I suppose you also have to be wealthy enough to to be willing to eat it if your screwdriver slips and launches itself through a board. (And for a bonus, I re-routed the speaker wires into that unused white connector on the left side of the main board (what is it supposed to be for?), and without even powering it up, got God talking to me, reciting the powerbook of revelations, and telling me that Lance Armstrong would win the tour de France... so you know he must have been right...)
