Hi there,

I know I don't post much on this list, but I am always here and enjoy
reading the list. When I got my Duo 230, it didn't have an adaptor. The
original owner said that the thing got fried.
After looking for batteries and adaptors on the Internet, I came across the
'Power Up' shop which you can find here;

         http://powerup.computerbatteries.co.uk/welcome/googlead.html

It mentions how the adaptor for the Duo uses 18-20v. I don't have 51.99 on
me at the moment. Fortunately I do have an iBook, so I took the adaptor from
this and plugged it into the Duo. The iBook's adaptor converts current to
21-24v. I wanted to see basically if the screen of the duo worked. It did,
but there was a fairly strong 'ghosting' effect, just like you would see on
a TV with a bad reception. I'm wondering if its just the Duo with a few
problems, or whether its because of the higher power shooting into the Duo.
Would I be damaging it by operating it like this?

On a side note, the caps lock seems to be jammed on. This doesn't matter
when its in the dock because I'm assuming that the Duo laptop's keyboard is
disabled, but when its not in the dock, this could be a little annoying as
I'd like to use it for writing and such.

Anyway, thanks for listening (or rather reading).

Matt
