I am using a USR 56K Sportster modem with my Duo 2300c. I had to make a custom cable as described on the 3Com support site. Here is the address to the page: http://www.usr.com/support/docs-template.asp?prod=s-mac There is a link to hardware handshaking cable there. What are you trying to connect to using your serial port on the 280c? Maybe more information about your setup would get more responses. Good Luck!
