I owned a 2300 and have a 2400 now: the 2300 has (imho) the nicer form factor
and may fit the bill well for you, especially since you mention word
processing.
The 2400 feels quite a bit faster (fearlessly, I use(d) Photoshop on both), I
would suspect has better resale value, but the keyboard may be a dealbreaker
for you - wasn't for me though.
