Charles,
Yes they will conflict; changing the SCSI ID on the HD you pulled out should
be easy enough, there are usually unused jumpers hanging off the pins you
use to configure the SCSI ID. Changing it to somewhere from 1-6 is safest,
taking into consideration any other devices on the chain.
The Duo will automatically boot off the dock's HD after you've done it once,
in the same way that it remembers video settings.
