Subject: Re: Best OS for Duo 230
I am using Duo 230, 16 MB installed RAM, 80 MB original drive
system 7.1 Eudora Pro 3.1
I use BBEdit Lite as my main word-processor --
Judith...as a long-time user of a 210 and a 280, I find that 7.6.1
takes about the same space as 7.1.3 on the 210, and I haven't stripped PPC
code out yet. And very fast. Lets me also use one of my favorites which is
PopUp Folders.
Use eudora Pro BUT often Telent first for reading mail. (better telnet)
I prefer Nifty Telnet. Small, fast, does everything I need.
i amnot hapy with browser - woud welcomesugestions. using netscape 2.02.
too manysudden quits, after it is not java-enbled. ae there extensions i
ca add to 7.1 to alow it to be java-enabled?
alternate browser is MacWeb _
iCab browser is wonderfully promising. WannaBe rox for a lot of
browsing...unless you really have to watch all the graphics load.
