Dear friends,

In June, I was sitting at the balcony at my office to work on my PB 2400
one of the first summer days.
I realized after about ten minutes that it was too bright to work there - I
couldn't see what was on the screen, despite a particular shield put on the
computer (to protect the screen from too much light and make it easier to
read, if you're interested in this product, made by friends of mine, see
http://www.hood.se/prodskarm.html). I gave up and walked in - and realized
that the computer was fading away in my arms. It had become overheated, and
the text was like fixed on the screen. After extremely long time, the
computer was back in its normal temperature, but since then, the screen and
the rest of the computer has been completely dead. (It gives out the
ordinary sound when I start it, then nothing else happens.)
Apparently, the PB couldn't stand being in the sun, which I suppose I
should have realized - even though it wasn't at all _that_ hot.

I think I'm one of few, if not the only one, in Sweden who own a 2400. I
would very much like it to be an alive and kicking 2400 (I love it more
than any of you loves your and is super dependent on it in my work). My
questions to you are:
* Do you think the guarantee would cover this at all? I suppose the
instructions say explicitly that the computer shouldn't be exposed to heat.
(The guarantee is valid in US and Japan only, though, so I have to go over
there to find out...which would be an expensive trip if it is no good.)
* Is there _any_ way of reparing this, or is my only bet to bury this on
the same churchyard where I've buried the two Duos I poured coffee on and
try to find another 2400?

Please send any consolations or informations to my private address:
