For the several of you who have been following my soap opera of trying to get Outlook up and running on my 2400 G3--I think I got it figured out!
See MS Knowlege Base article # Q189906. It shows an obscure (to me) step on TCP/IP config which entails creating a "Hosts" file in lieu of DNS.
I have just started Outlook and seem to have a functional inbox. I don't know yet whether personal folders, calendar, etc. are accessible, but this looks like the breakthrough I've needed. I couldn't even get Outlook to start before.
Thanks Jacqueline--and others--for your help.
