Although I haven't invested in the upgrade yet myself. I have read
with interest ALL the messages posted about them and can say by way
of summary that the G3 upgrade does not significantly impact the
battery life. Also if you shutdown the cache, via the provided
utility, when working on the battery, the work time is almost
identical to the original machine.
At least that is what others have repeatedly reported:)
