I've had great headaches with the GV internal modem and my Duo 2300c since
upgrading to OS 8.5 &8.6.1.

a) Under 8.6.1, it is no longer possible to use external modems, even with
the "normal" setting for port configuration in the powerport control panel.
This used to work for 8.5, as the " compatible" setting resulted in very
slow throughput through the external modem. Still inconvenient, as the
setting reverts to "compatible" after every boot.

b) Desktop printing under 8.5 was not possible.

b) Duo is very unstable under 8.6.1 when the internal modem is online.

c) Faxing is impossible. Machine locks up. Latest GV software installed.

Tried to resolve any possible 3rd party extension conflicts without
success. Hoping for relief under OS 9, but not holding my breath. Global
Village not responding to e-mail.
