Did the Zip work with the dock before? If so, startup your computer with all
extensions off with the Zip disk already in the drive (make sure it is the only
SCSI device plugged into the Dock). The Zip disk should have a built-in driver
so no need for your Extension. When your Mac scans the SCSI chain it should see
the driver and automatically load the disk image onto your desktop. I do not
believe you need the extensions installed to run the 7.6 installer, so you
should be ready to go. I have installed OS 7.6 many times via ZIP on various
different computers.
I was able to use my Zip on every old Mac I have acquired this way (and none of
them had any Iomega drivers ever installed).
