I too am totally AMAZED as how few problems have come up with my 2400. the
speed upgraded to g3 was amazing, the 80 ram is superb, and the 56k pc card
modem is a dream.
sorry for those who have had less than desirable results....>>

Mine, too. My stock 2400 with 48MB RAM, MacOS 8.5.1 and a GV 56K/ethernet
card has been nearly flawless. I've had 8 Macs over the years (SE, IIcx,
Quadra950, 7100, 8100, duo 230, PowerTowerPro200-XLR8/G3/300/1), and this one
has probably been the least troublesome.
I love how easy it is to pop my Nikon CoolPix's compact flash card into
the 2400 via PCMCIA adapter, and then dump the JPEG files to my
PowerComputing/G3-upgraded (somewhat buggy) Mac via Ethernet, with nary a
burp...
    I took the 2400 to Paris to do some radio engineering consulting work;
the modem (with simple RadioShack modem and power plug adapters) worked
perfectly, and I was able to record the radio station from a Walkman into the
Mac's sound input jack, edit with digidesign Protools, and analyze the sound
with Metric Halo SpectraFoo...All without any serious problems. (Getting AOL
to work there was a little difficult, but once I realized the beta that I was
using didn't work with international hookups, I went back to an older
version, and all was OK)
One time, I left it on the steps to my cellar, and forgot about it. Then
I was coming down the stairs in the near-dark, and I stepped on it...sending
it flying down the steps to the concrete floor, and me sprawling on my back.
The modem card popped out, and I was convinced my 2400 was a 'goner.'
But *I* was much more damaged than it. A little scuff mark was all (on
the 2400, that is)... She fired right up, and has worked fine since. I, on
the other hand, had a serious (but temporary) back injury. It also weathered
a spill to the floor from an overhead baggage rack on a German train, with no
problem.

Bravo 2400C!!

(Now if I can just get that Vimage 320Mhz G3 upgrade...)
