I first used Faxstf with my first modem, then got a Global Village and
used their software, and more recently tried to use the upgrade to Faxstf
- sorry I don't remember the version number - and had a hell of a time,
then I downloaded the GV upgrade which has got too complex and just too
clever. If I lived in the U.S.A. it would probably be OK, the program
seems to assume that I do and puts US area codes on for me, however the
fact is I live in Japan which has quite different area codes. What works
best for me is ValueFax. It has a really ugly, early System 7-esque
interface, but it gets the job done without fuss and is very light and
doesn't take up much space - ideal for powerbooks. It works on system 8.6
with no problem at all. I completely recommend it.
Yours sincerely,
John Davis
