I know that computer stores carry an adapter to accomodate laptop hard drives 
in a desktop computer, but the ide and scsi networking is another issue all 
together....not sure what the answer is, but I do doubt that you can 
interchange....you might want to get one of those cases that you can drop a 
laptop drive into that plugs into the scsi at the back of any other 
computer...that might be the final solution.
