Dear John,

>As far as the OS, I have used 8, 8.1, 8.5, 8.5.1 and 8.6. In my experience,
>8 was good but had some problems. 8.1 is what I am using now, because it's
>light on RAM, fast and response. 8.5 and so on, although fun to use, felt
>sluggish on my 2400c- I am hoping OS9 remedied that!

I found that once the hardware kinks were ironed out, 8.5 and 8.6 are
brilliant, not only fun to use, as you say, but faster, more responsive,
MUCH more stable and - really - a tad better on the battery and the whole
machine runs cooler. 8.6 is easily the next best thing since draught
Guinness in a can - and that's saying something.

Perhaps you are a bit low on RAM - I have 80 on my 2400c/240.

Yours sincerely,

John Davis
