Well I just got mine back yesterday... and unfortunately I can not
have the procedure done due to having a rev D motherboard.
So I can't relate any experience about running cardbus PC cards...
...but I can relate living for a week without my beloved 2400c.
My 2400c is tuned and tight with a copper vimage 320, a 4gig drive,
and a ricochet SX wireless modem. I was forced to make do with a
loaner PB 266 G3 (Wall Street) for the week. Egads the Wall Street
sucked. It was huge and unwieldy ansd weighed a ton in comparison to
my little 2400. I can't believe that Apple really thinks that is what
people want in a laptop. I am so glad to have shed that brick!
I am a bit bummed that I probably won't see the longevity I had hoped
out of the 2400 as I was hoping to start the process of converting
all my peripherals to firewire and USB over the next year or so.
Maybe Apple will finally get some sort of clue and make a reasonably
sized laptop again.
