Hi all,

I've had a Duo 280c for a few months now, and a while back the trackerball
became so "sticky" that moving the pointer horizontally on the screen was
impossible.

Took it into a repair shop here in London and got stung for 45 (about $70)
just for the guy to open it up and clean out the dirt in the mechanism!

On full size PB's like my 170 you just twist open the locking ring, pull out
the ball and Bob's your Uncle. I can't believe that something so basic is
not "user serviceable" on the Duo.

Anyway, I'm panicking because it's getting sticky again. Apart from
compulsively washing my hands (they aren't THAT dirty surely) or buying
packs of sterile surgical gloves, is there any way to open up the tracker
ball unit and give it a clean?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Anyway, got to go and wash my hands
now.
