Part1:

After reading all the comments I halfheartedly reset the powermanager
again today and well the 2400 came back to life again.
I'm careful about beeing overly optimistic, but maybe there might be
nothing wrong with the hardware...
Since it is back it froze one time and one time crashed with error 10,
both with claris emailer.
Now, maybe the mentioned heatsink problem might be the fault ?
I don't know, guess I have to observe what's happening in the next time.
I really would like to have my 2400 reliable again like it was in the
beginning !

Part 2:

Ok, this second part was written after the machine froze again, but
would not start-up afterwards. I waited approx. 7 hours. Then I tried
again without the ac-adapter:
Nothing, no green light, just the faint click.
Then I tried with the AC-adapter : GONG.
Now it's running, but: Before it froze, the battery was 80% full.
Afterwards totally empty ! Does that mean It sucked electricity from the
battery, even though it was off, or is just this whole PMU totally
!#@$@%@$! up ?
I should mention, that I bought a brand new battery and an adapter 4
months ago.

Questions, questions, questions
I'm confused right now!
I just want to work with the machine !
Is this to much ?
