The card is a CardATA device, which essentially provides an additional ATA
bus to a PC notebook via a standard 16-bit PC card slot. It's conceivable
but not all that likely that the Apple ATA drivers could use it if they saw
it, but they'd have to know to look at that card and socket, and that's
even more doubtful (recognising the card and showing the correct icon is a
trivial matter, and needn't indicate any driver support exists). The drive
itself will just be a standard ATAPI CD-ROM, same as what's in any current
Mac - but with a funky cable that probably won't connect to anything but
that PC card (knowing Sony).

>Are you using CD-Rom Toolkit? what version? Apple's driver DEFINITELY

Sort of...the Apple driver can drive most SCSI and virtually any ATAPI
CD-ROM drive. The problem here is that it will never see the drive, because
the bus it's attached to isn't supported by any underlying driver. I doubt
whether CD-ROM toolkit or any other third-party CD driver will help in this
case, not because it's impossible or even particularly difficult, but
because it's a pretty unusual situation for a Powerbook. This is probably a
lost cause.
