They determined that it was not the motherboard, but the >power >management hardware, the processor, and the battery. They turned the whole >thing around in a day and sent it back to me, and now it works great, plus >I've >got this nice warraty on it. And we all know that these things are running on >borrowed time. That was my experience exactly. The problem was the internal power supply board which, if you have opened your 2400, is the board that has all the back panel connectors on it. Apple wouldn't sell me the part alone. Apple quoted me $850 and two weeks. DT&T quoted me a very reasonable price on the part alone or the part installed. I my 2400 to DT&T. They repaired it and were calling me for return shipping information BEFORE THE PACKAGE WAS EVEN SCHEDULED TO BE DELIVERED TO THEM (according to Airborne's tracking system.) Wow. Apple should be embarrased! The machine works great now and they even replaced a missing screw and those ephemeral sticky dots by the keyboard. http://www.dttservice.com/ Mike Friese ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
