Exactly! Everybody is different, so it's up to the individual user.
I can't stand the trackpad because it felt like I was performing a finger
massage of some sort. Eventually, it was like I lost all of the
feeling/sensitivity in my finger (even though I didn't). I much prefer the
tactile sensation of the mechanical ball. For me at least, there won't be
much improvement in pointing devices until we go to touch screens.
The great thing about the 2300 is that if you don't like the trackpad, you
can easily swap it out for a trackball, which you can't do with any other
Powerbook (strangely, some PC laptops have this option). So it's a no risk
situation.
