This is way off-topic for this list, but I can't think of anyone better to ask.

I have to fix a Powerbook 180 running MacOS 7.1, MacTCP 2.0.6, and 
"Best of PPP" 2.2.0.

The problem is that the Config PPP control panel has the "Open" 
button grayed out so it can't be activated. It's been so long since I 
worked on something this ancient that I can't remember what causes 
this.

Can anyone give me a few hints? The hardware has been checked out and 
everything supposedly works.
