If I'm not mistaken, I remember people saying that they could not boot OS
9 with the MacAlly USB card inserted... I have experienced the same
problem. Note: My PowerBook has NOT been modified by MCE or anyone else.

However, I also remember hearing that people had success with it under OS
8.6. I have since reverted to 8.6 from 9 for that and many other reasons
(Hey Tom, my available RAM after booting is 58MB under 8.6 compared to
52MB under 9), but I am still unable to boot/restart with the card
inserted (but I can sleep).

Also, with a bit of mild testing with an iMac DV keyboard and mouse, I've
discovered that the PowerBook will NOT recognize the devices if it is
slept with the devices plugged in, but will if they are unplugged before
sleep (the card left in) and re-plugged upon awakening.

Last but not least, it seems that I always must restart TWICE after
installing USB Card SUpport 1.3.5 to get the PB to not think the MacAlly
is a 64KB disk (which it insists on re-formatting). The reason I have had
to install it so regularly, is that it seems ever time I return to do
some testing, the card is not recognized, no matter HOW many re-boots,
but re-installing seems to fix this.

Has anyone else been toying around with this card on a modified or
un-modified machine. In your reply, please inform which of the two your
machine is. Also, I have the stock 180 603e with 80MB RAM.

Thanks,

Jay
