Hi Guys

I do appreciate your responses concerning my battery reconditioning
problem. I didn't really mean for it to turn into a debate over the good and
bad
of it. I just acquired this duo last week and it has always been my practice
to
recondition the battery on any laptop I purchase used. It has never failed
me,
and has always given me positive results to one degree or another.
To get back to the subject of my original post.
I tried all of your suggestions and It was still to no avail. I even
disconnected the Pram battery for a good hour.
It was better with versions 1.3, and 1.1. The apps would run,
but only for about 5 minutes. They would then give me the warning (Battery
recondition has been canceled because of an error).
Before I wrote this reply It donned on me that this particular duo
had come with a 45 watt power adapter from either a 3400, or a 1400.
Could that be my problem? I have to wonder because the problem
is the same with both batteries, and it persist even with a different
motherboard. I cant see how it could be the modem, hard drive, or memory.
So it seems like it has to be the adapter. My question is then, are these
adapters
CPU specific? I know they are interchangeable with the different families
of laptops, but could the 280 be receiving the wrong info from this
particular adapter. Are these adapters progamed with a diferent agorythm for
there pospective
computer.
Also I do not have a DUO adapter to find out it it is the cause.

Again,
Thanks for all you responses.
