I tried about everything to get this powerbook (Duo 250) up and running again. The hard disk would not boot up on power up. I finally put the Apple Application called "Apple HD SC Setup" on the emergency disk. This application recognized the hard drive. So I installed a new driver and it now works fine. Thanks to those who offered suggestions. Regards, Don Donald E. Stowe (Don) Retired HS.
