You can use the Disk Tools disk # 1 for System 8.0/8.1 (the second disk is
for PPC Macs). Your 280 can run and be booted on 8.0/8.1, even if your
system itself is only 7.6.1 or lower. AFAIK, there isn't any 7.6.1 Disk
Tools disk for 68xxx's out there, but I could be wrong. I use the 8.0 Disk
Tools 1 disk myself for my 280 and 280c (the installer will create both
disks 1 and 2, but you can stop after creating the first one).
