Yeah...  the Epson Stylus is junk!  Figures it would work with 
Microcrap.  The first one I bought was for my lab.  SPSS did not like 
it.  The Epson extensions conflicted with the SPSS one despite 
denials by Epson "support".  Printing was so slow I could have done 
the calculation by hand and _typed_ and proofed the output faster. 
It took a major dramatic performance to get Epson to agree to take 
the damn thing back.   My daughter's stylus ate its paper feed right 
after the warantee ran out with less that a couple of packs of paper 
thru it.  The third I bought for the lab for a non-SPSS purpose burnt 
its motherboard, again right after the warantee -  this printer used 
more ink cleaning its nozzles than printing!  The lifespan of these 
thing is unbelievably short.  The epson software only seems happy 
when it has a ton of RAM.  I have few other examples too.  I wouldn't 
touch a Stylus for any reason even if they are about the only people 
making a 'serial' printer.
