I had the same problem. Try this:
I had what I though was a sticky security key lock. My duo & dock exhibited
these exact symptoms. So, it seemed to resolve itself when I would turn the key
very hard into the lock & unlock position a couple of times. Eventually that
quit working. Only after exploring the dock did I realize that the mechanism to
lock it and manually unlock is very fragile. You might look to see if the
springs are all intact and the control mechanics are all in alignment. When I
fixed these problems everything worked perfectly. The only time this happens
now is when the key is slightly turned toward lock, and I mean imperceptibly
from just looking at it. Either remove the key, or make sure it is always
firmly in the unlock position. I actually leave the key in the dock, because
heavy inserting & ejecting can actually cause the lock to move slightly, just
enough to disable normal operation. So, I find I need to occasionally re-seat
the lock. Try not to use the manual eject very often as this is the easiest way
to screw up the locking mechanism.
