Apart from special algorithms to speed up (by shaving precision) certain
computations (in order to enhance benchmarks), Libmoto's benefits have been
pretty much debunked over the past few years. Of course it certainly didn't
hurt Motorola's StarMax clone benchmarks. LM can also cause instability in
certain software including games and applications programmed to tight memory
requirements. The consensus is to stay away from it (except to demo speedy
MacBench results!--so I still keep it in my Extensions (Off) folder <g>).

I researched this pretty carefully for running CADD operations for Mac and
in PC emulation on Powerbooks. Mike Breeden's Libmoto page is a good
starting point for more details at:
