A neighbor brought me a dead 1400c/133 in the hopes that I can revive
it. It shows NO signs of life at all.

At first I thought it was a powermanager issue and so I did the reset
rituals. (remove all power from the device {AC/Battery}, hold down
reset for 1 min, plug in AC, boot)

No luck. The 'book is cold and dark still.

I haven't a clue what to try next, beyond opening the case and seeing
if some cable has knocked lose... but somehow I doubt that would be
the case.

Any hints?

I don't have much experience with the 1400. Nice looking machine
though. Not as big as I thought it would be.
